One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don’t throw it away.”

~ Stephen Hawking, Visionary Physicist, 1942-2018

If you’re not educated to enjoy the arts, if you’re not taken to a concert, or you don’t hear something beautiful, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Welcome to The JOY Diaries, an idea and adventure blog by me, Tina.

What is a joy diary anyway? I’m not suggesting life is perfect. I don’t even know what “perfect” is supposed to mean. Life is just life. And most of the time I LOVE it. Sure, my boys light my fuse when they bicker. My car broke down yesterday. I’m queen of bad hair days. My mug breaks out in weird, middle-aged-people zits. I have frequent insomnia, and on those days when I’m overtired, super cranky and eating junk, I bloat up like an inflatable lounge chair. Blergh!

So snit happens. It’s fine. My blog is about living well because of the unexpected things that happen in life as much as despite them. Sometimes that means  finding and appreciating the JOY in an experience, and at other times that means bringing some JOY to the moment when it’s really needed…or, just because!

I juggle most of my time between my family and my work. But I always look for opportunities to read, write, eat yummy food with people I like (YAY, if it’s cooked by someone else!), enjoy art, see shows, make cool things, and explore outside.

I almost called this blog The Bucket List, but I don’t have a ready-made list of goals or things I want to accomplish before I kick the bucket. Instead, this blog is about filling my bucket with purpose and with people, places, and experiences that bring me joy and telling the stories. Destination unknown!

As an avid reader myself, I appreciate my blog readers very much and hope to see you back again.

Until next time.

All posts and stories in The JOY Diaries reflect my own opinions, interests, experiences, observations and take on life. So please take them lightly – even joyfully! 😉

If I’m sponsored by a business or brand, I’ll let you know up front, so I can include them as part of the story. And whenever I’m sponsored by a business or brand, this blog is still 100% me — my point of view and experience. 🙂

(Lost? That might not be a bad thing, but if you were looking for my social media marketing blog, it’s over at LiftComms.)
