“One, remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Two, never give up work. Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. Three, if you are lucky enough to find love, remember it is there and don’t throw it away.”
~ Stephen Hawking, Visionary Physicist, 1942-2018
If you’re not educated to enjoy the arts, if you’re not taken to a concert, or you don’t hear something beautiful, you don’t know what you’re missing.
~ Julie Andrews
Welcome to The JOY Diaries, an idea and adventure blog by Tina Capalbo.
I’m not suggesting life is perfect. It isn’t. My boys light my fuse when they bicker. My car broke down yesterday. I’m queen of bad hair days. My mug breaks out in weird, old-people zits. I have frequent insomnia, and on those days when I’m overtired, super cranky and eating junk, I bloat up like an inflatable lounger. Blergh!
So snit happens. And my blog is about living well because of the unexpected things that happen in life as much as despite them. Sometimes that means finding JOY in an experience, and at other times that means bringing JOY to it.
I juggle most of my time between my family and my work. But I always look for opportunities to squeeze in some time for reading, writing, eating yummy food (YAY, if it’s cooked by someone else!), enjoying art, seeing shows, making cool things, and exploring.
I almost called this blog The Bucket List, but I don’t have a ready-made list of goals or things I want to accomplish before I kick the bucket. Nope. This blog is about filling my bucket with things, places and experiences that bring me joy as I discover them. The Joy Diaries is an exploration of points of view and places. It’s about enjoying good books, art, shows and food when I can and navigating and appreciating life as it comes too. I follow where life leads and tell the stories. Destination unknown.
As an avid reader myself, I appreciate my blog readers very much and hope to see you back again.
Until next time.
Whenever I’m sponsored by a business or brand, I’ll let you know up front, so that I can include them as part of the story and give you an opportunity to explore more about them if you like. 🙂
